Petition for Bloc Party to play a B-side/EP only gig in the UK.

    1. Petition by

      Buck Rogers

      Norwich, United Kingdom

For those of us that have lived our lives through Bloc Party's music, many will know that their repertoire extends beyond their four LPs.

While not meaning to discredit those records, whose tracks deserve to be played regularly on tour, there do exist other songs that didn't make it on to those albums (the likes of Little Thoughts, Skeleton, The Present, Blue Moon, Rhododendron etc.) that can also be classed as some of the band's greatest, as well as fan favourites. And yet, they are rarely heard in a live setting - not anymore, at least. As the band ages and these songs lose further "relevance" with the arrival of new material, the likelihood of them ever being played live again decreases.

When asked if such a gig could happen on Twitter, Russell Lissack replied: "I'd like to do it, i've even suggested it myself, but it's not me you need to convince." So, the thought is already there!

This petition is designed to convince the sceptics that an event like this could and should happen. By signing this petition alone you show an appreciation for Bloc Party's music. However, together, we can also show that such a gig would be worth it for the band and potential organisers. After that, who knows what could happen...

This petition is evidence to say we, the fans, would love to see Bloc Party perform their rarest songs in the near future. We would be eternally grateful.

Sincerely,
