Arlington Public Schools - School Board

Through the 2013-2022 CIP, remain true to the original intention of the 2012 School Bond by moving forward with the design (and later construction) of a new South Arlington elementary school.

    1. Petition by

      Concerned Arlington County Residents

As busy residents of Arlington County and/or parents of young APS students, we may not have the ability to attend every 2013-2022 CIP stakeholder meeting -- e.g. the Community Forum on Feb. 5th at Washington-Lee High School; however, we remain concerned citizens who want to ensure that our voices are heard on this issue. We voted for the 2012 School Bond based on a specific plan laid-out in the bond's FAQ sheet (http://www.apsva.us/CIP), and we want to ensure that APS and its School Board follow-through on their original intention to alleviate imminent elementary school overcrowding south of Arlington Blvd., rather than re-directing those bond funds toward the design (and later construction) of a new North Arlington middle school. Thank you!

    1. !!! PLEASE ATTEND: APS Community Meeting, Wed. 2/19, 7-9pm at TJMS !!!

Please help send a message to the APS School Board: we want them to remain true to their 2012 Bond promise to build a new South Arlington elementary school, and we want accountability for future projects.

If you are able, please plan to attend the next ***Community Meeting on Wed., February 19th from 7-9pm in the Thomas Jefferson Middle School Theater*** for "update, feedback of elementary and middle school options" (http://www.apsva.us/moreseats).

WE NEED IN-PERSON REPRESENTATION FROM OUR SUPPORTERS at this meeting to make this happen -- wear *GREEN* to "greenlight" our South Arlington elementary school, and please don't be shy about asking questions -- or our children ARE going to be sitting in trailers for the forseeable future!

There is nothing more important to the future of our society than providing the best possible public education. We need the facilities to do that.

All of Arlington requires good schools. Please be far-sighted and don't ignore South Arlington kids.
