I ask that you stop the deportation of Pedro Barcenas #A-072816995 and ask for his immediate release so he may return to his family.

August 17, 2012 is a day I will never forget. As I was getting ready for work and my children were asleep in their beds, there was a loud knock on the door and 2 police officers informing me that they had a warrant for my husband's arrest for a deportation that occurred almost 20 years ago.

Why were the officer's at my door Now, after all these years? The answer, because I had begun the long and tedious process of making him legal. By filing the necessary forms, under the advice of our immigration attorney, ICE learned the address of our home. Our current system is definitely flawed.

Now, my family is being torn apart, with very little hopes of repair. I am a US citizen. We have been married for 9 years and have a 7 year old daughter and a 2 year old son. I am trying everything I can think of to save my family.

Please help save our family,
Melody Voirin

A man who has been here should stay with his family.

20 years and married to a U.S. citizen, and father of her kids, this just doesn't seem close to right. This is unjustifiable and deplorable.

Families with children attempting to do the right thing to make their status right should not be penalized for taking the action necessary to correct their past mistakes when the person concerned is an upstanding person with no criminal past.

Please allow this family to remain united as they navigate the difficult and cumbersome immigration system.
