Paul Teller and the Republican Study Committee (RSC): republish and stand behind their policy brief on Copyright Law

The Republican Study Committee published a great pro-freedom/pro-business brief on copyright law. This seems right up the Republican's alley as they claim to be pro-business and pro-freedom. However, they quickly removed it soon after publishing it. Most likely they were cowardly caving in to pressure from content industry lobbyists like the RIAA.

Tell Paul Teller and the RSC to stand behind this report and their beliefs and tell the RIAA to simmer down.

You can read more about it here.

Law must be based on need, evidence and reason. To let the interests of those whose destructive and immoral actions law is intended to curb take precedence would defeat the purpose of all but an arbitrary and corrupt legal system.

Copyright reform is desperately needed to restore our popular culture to the population. That large holding companies control our cultural heritage is abhorrent, and it stops the creation of any derivative works cold.

Sensible reform appears. Minutes later brave GOP fold like a cheap card table after Hollyweird comes a calling. I guess it isn't just Democrats who suck up to Hollywood these days.
