Rescue groups are being treated unfairly by the dog laws that commercial kennels are suppose to follow. They are making it almost impossible to run a rescue in PA.The Dept of Agriculture holds rescue groups to the same standards as kennels and breeders. Actually, they hold us to higher standards. Help us change this!

PA Department of Agriculture, Dog Law Enforcement Office
Stop treating rescue groups like dog breeders and puppy mills. The current laws have nothing to do with rescue groups, but you treat them just like the breeders and the puppy mills that are giving Pa a bad name. We need different laws that will help us save animals and protect them.

I work with a dog rescue and am seeing first hand dogs dying because these laws prevent them from being rescued.

Because I am an animal lover and think that anyone who rescues animals are not in it for the money like some of these breeders and puppy mills. Its a sin to put a rescuer in that same category.

We need to stop puppy mills as they poorly treat their animals, however rescue groups are designed for the benefit of the pets and to give them a better life. These are institutions that run off of donations. They should not be held to the same standards as the puppy mills that are for-profit businesses and make that their primary concern.

The cruel treatment of animals needs to be a priority in everyones lives. They deserve only the best, they are defenseless little creatures that deserve the best chance at life.
