Legalize Gay Marriage in Oregon

Same sex marriage is currently illegal in the State of Oregon. Legalizing gay marriage would not negatively impact society, it would simply allow those who love each other access to the same rights that heterosexual couples enjoy, such as tax breaks, shared health benefits, and the ability to visit each other in the hospital.

      The Coquille Native American tribe of Oregon became the FIRST tribe to officially recognize Marriage Equality for its tribal members! What a landmark! The Suquamish tribe of Washington State {the people of Chief Seattle} soon followed suit. A number of Native American tribes are considering Marriage Equality for their members now. {On the Reservation, tribal laws on things like marriage apply over State laws.}

      The Coquille tribe shows a wonderful example of non-discrimination for Oregon and for the rest of the world! It is time to extend to those citizens of Oregon who don't happen to be tribal members, the SAME rights of all other citizens who are heterosexual. Recognizing Marriage Equality has NOT harmed any of the tribes who have adopted it -- this should set an example for EVERYone. Educate yourselves and others!
