Open NYC’s piers to historic ships! Save PortSide's MARY A. WHALEN!

    2. Petition by

      PortSide NewYork

      New York, NY

Help the historic ship of PortSide NewYork, the MARY A. WHALEN, find a home NOW so she does not go to the scrap heap!

Historic ships provide a rich connection to the past and future of this waterfront city; but they have a hard time getting access to NYC piers.

We need to push NYC to create a new docking policy that makes great cultural resources like the MARY A. WHALEN sustainable and available to New Yorkers today--and in the years to come.

Help the MARY A. WHALEN--and all historic ships in NYC--by signing this petition!

We live in the greatest city in the world. New York has everything, including the Mary A. Whalen. Let's keep New York City unique and not become known just for having the most Duane Reades or Rite-Aids.

Such ships won't appear again when scrapped. Progress doesn't equal erasing everything from the past in the name of efficiency

The team behind the ship Mary A. Whalen has discovered incredible ways to bring culture and arts out over the water--imagine what could happen if LOTS of ships could collaborate on such things!
