*UPDATE - 03/23/2012*

The ASPCA recently announced that they are working with Facebook and Oodle to restrict listings of puppy mill dogs ( http://aspca.org/news/facebook-rejects-puppy-mill-ads-for-good ). This is awesome news! Until Oodle bans all puppy mills from their site please message them and urge them to educate their customers about puppy mills and giving their pets away to strange new homes. Please also congratulate them on their help in combating the puppy mill industry.

Please contact Oodle ( http://www.oodle.com/info/contact/ ) and let them know that what they are doing is not acceptable! Oodle does not have an email address so after you sign this petition please contact them via the website.

People are using Oodle Marketplace on its website and an app on Facebook to buy and sell animals.

Puppies for sale on websites like this are mainly coming from puppy mills. Shoppers are often not aware of the deplorable conditions (filth, disease, tiny cramped cages, lack of care and attention) these puppies and their parents are living in.

Dog fighters also use these websites to acquire bait animals. Dogs, cats and other small animals that are given away "to a good home" are taken by these people to use as "bait" in dog fighting. Bait animals are used by dog fighters to train dogs to become aggressive. They are made defenseless with rope or tape and are then attacked and killed.

Oodle needs to stop allowing people to buy and sell animals on their website and start educating the public about what is happening to these helpless beings. Perhaps they could team up with Petfinder to help animals in shelters find homes.
