On Tuesday October 2, 2012 several One Direction fans that had purchased Ultimate VIP Packages at Hershey Park Stadium last April received automated emails from Ticketmaster telling us our UVIP packages are no longer valid and we are no longer allowed to meet the band. The six-month window between the time tickets were purchased and the time we were notified makes no sense.
Below is an open letter to all parties involved.
TO: Modest! Management, Hershey Park Stadium, and Livenation,
I want to bring to the attention a massive error involving the Ultimate VIP packages for One Direction's 2013 Hershey PA Show on the 6th of July.
As you may know a handful of fans, including myself, were distraught to find out that our meet and greet for next year had been removed and we’ve been demoted to regular VIP.
After speaking to several representatives for VIPNation, Ticketmaster and the Hershey Park stadium, all avenues have led to the allegations that One Direction's management is responsible for the loss of our meet and greet. Though, with the runaround we’ve been given it’s still in question who’s truly at fault.
Not only was the process of obtaining VIP tickets a stressful experience to fans, I only hope you can imagine the stress it's causing us now. To find out that after all our hard work in obtaining Ultimate VIP we don't get to meet the band is to be blunt, absolutely ludicrous.
It's unfair and frankly inexcusable that everyone involved feels it's impossible to work around this error and reinstate our meet and greets. For six months we've believed that we would be meeting Louis, Harry, Niall, Liam and Zayn as group in a controlled environment.
Now we get to go into regular VIP only to witness other people being ushered off to meet the band knowing we should've had that privilege too?
Nowhere does it state that our meet and greets could be jeopardized due to overselling that portion of the Ultimate VIP experience.
With the growing success of One Direction the opportunities to meet them in a private and controlled environment is a once in a lifetime chance.
Considering this is the only venue where this error has occurred, I don't see why it's impossible to host an extra meet and greet for those affected by something that was out of our control.
One Direction regularly states how much they love and appreciate all their fans, but right now we can’t help but feel expendable.
When all is said and done, all we’re asking for is our meet and greet back.
We encourage other One Direction fans, friends, family members of those affected and anyone who agrees we've been wronged to join us in signing this petition. We want to bring attention to something that could have been avoided. It’s unfair what’s happened to us and we hope to prevent this from happening to other fans in the future.
