Personhood does not start at conception. This bill, if passed, would have far reaching ramifications, including the impossible yet expensive task of enforcement. It is an attack against women's bodies, spearheaded by religious zealots, pushing a religious agenda. The government has no business making laws that are founded in the spirit of religious opinion.

We need to raise as much awareness as possible. We can start with Oklahoma, but there are another dozen states considering similar legislation. Let's show these and other legislators that women are not chattle, deprived of rights by their owners. This is primitive, stone age thinking, and it needs to stop. It's an attempt to userp women's rights to do with their bodies what they see fit. The female of our species is more than a reproductive vessel, and they have every bit of the right as men to have sex as a non-procreative activity. This bill is an attempt to abolish women from engaging in sex for pleasure, something I think we all know will never happen . Finally, abortions will happen whether legal or not - the only difference is to the safety of the patient, which would decline substantially.

(i've linked a very good article summarizing some of what is happening in the world of women's rights in today's USA)

As others before me have stated- this bill violates the rights of women. Giving a mass of cells precedence over the living being that carries them is grossly unacceptable. There are numerous valid reasons for a women to terminate her pregnancy such as cases rape or incest, for the protection of her mental and physical health, and financial issues.

Also, our planet is highly unstable due to the growing crisis regarding over-population. Therefore, the last thing we should be worrying about is ensuring the creation of more life.

Please don't push one religion's ideas onto all of society. Thank you.

As a nurse, certified to serve patients of assault/rape and abuse I am afraid of the far reaching implications of this bill if allowed to become law of the land. If this is the first step where will it end?

This bill is one step away from investigating every tragic miscarriage as a potential crime.
