This petition is important for the evolution of our local businesses. A person can have a couple of drinks and not get drunk. The bartenders can refuse to not serve a person who's had enough. Happy hour is only for a short time. We all know the consequences of driving drunk. Happy hour is not about getting drunk, it's about having a couple of drinks for half price, and socializing after working hours and before the night gets too late. Happy Hour Regulations belong in the past.

There are quite a few ABC laws in this state that make absolutely no difference to whether or not someone drinks responsibly. Why does it make MORE sense to promote specials ALL day, that lead to people drinking longer amounts of time, then to promote a special for a few hours. Makes NO sense what-so-ever! And what does it matter that an alcohol establishment can't advertise their specials on their signs? How does that affect anything? A bar is a bar is a bar and even teenagers know it's a bar even without advertising on signs. Kids and teenagers are taken into restaurants all the time where people are drinking alcohol but restaurants can get away with more? How does that make sense? Teens and children can't go hang out in bars but they can in restaurants but restaurants can advertise things bars can't? Right makes a lot of sense there! Or how about smoking in bars? If it's private establishment and people are required to have memberships can't they just decided to go to a non-smoking facility? They're already killing their livers by drinking, just like "supposed" second hand smoke" kills people. Get a GRIP NC!!

Because this is how I make a living. And the revenue produced would benefit, the establishment owner, the bartender, the customer, and of coarse the state.. If restaurants can have an "early bird" special, than what exactly is the difference between that and a "happy hour"?

Somethings needs to be regulated like the oil industries, but not the rights of the small business owners of adult establishments. Let them set there guide lines, not sometime that doesn't even partake in contributions to the business owners revenue.
