With funding from the American Freedom Defense Initiative (deemed a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center), Pamela Geller has posted a new billboard in the Hartsdale Metro-North train platform.

The billboard states:

Deadly Islamic Attacks since 9/11/01
___________and counting________________
________It's Not Islamophobia__________
__________It's Islamorealism____________

( To read more about this new billboard: )

Any form of hate speech, regardless if it is vilifying a person for his/her gender, race, sexual orientation or religion, has NO place in a public train platform, or anywhere else in the United States for that matter. This billboard does nothing but encourage hatred and incite violence, violence that has recently lead to innocent Muslims being killed: the Wisconsin Sikh temple shooting and the Missouri Mosque burning are just two recent examples. The ad is also misleading: How many of these attacks have happened within America's borders?

We must stop such hate speech before it leads to more of these atrocities being committed.

I am in support of freedom of speech, but it should not be extended to propaganda or hate speech on a train platform that is funded by taxpayers. This sign is offensive not only to Muslim Americans, but also to non-Muslim Americans such as myself who are offended by such a message of hate found in a public space. As an American, it is my duty to actively fight against such forms of racism and hate speech in my community.

Please sign this petition if you are in support of removing this deplorable billboard from the Hartsdale Metro-North Platform.

I believe that any form of conduct which demoralizes someones way of life, or insults their ethnicity, religion, or sex has no place withing the borders of the United States or anywhere else. Also he/she who does so is using "freedom of speech" to hurt others, and any form of speech that takes away from the freedoms of speech is not approved under the constitution.
