New York Red Bulls Please Bring back Luke Rodgers

Luke Rodgers created an unexpected glimmer of hope for the New York Red Bulls in the 2011 MLS season. The English journeyman was a force to be reckoned with in the MLS and his playing on the pitch has won over thousands of fans.  He is immensely entertaining to watch and is the perfect compliment to legend  Thierry Henry. Only with Luke Rodgers do we feel we can win any Championship.

As a result of  his play and off the pitch interaction with fans Luke Rodgers has added to the excitement of Harrison, New Jersey, which is an area that is in desperate need for rejuvenation.  The success of the local rebuilding projects are tied in directly to the Red Bulls being successful and without Luke Rodgers we fear they will not have the added talent to do so.  This will add to a decline in fan interest therefore, a loss of millions of dollars in revenue not for just the club but for an area that is much in need of cash flow.

Luke Rodgers is a shinning example of an individual that has come to the USA during his previous visa period and produced phenomenal results.  He paid taxes on his wages, he gave back by becoming  involved in local charity programs for underprivileged and ill children, ( http://www.starlight.org/mls ) and he never had any issue with the law.

However, keep the petition going so when he reapplies we can show ties to here. Hopefully he will be back in the summer or next year.

We are about to hit 650 and Id like to close the petition with maybe 675....but we only have a few hours to do so. IN order to make sure the petition is in the right peoples hands I will be shutting it down some time tonight or Tuesday early morning. So for a final push I think we can spread the link all over the place..on Red Bull's home page and their Facebook...Tweet everyone you know the link..ask celebrities to RT it. Email or text your friends and family the link. I think we can hit 675 maybe even 700 if we all do a little bit in spreading the link. If just one tenth of you get one person to sign the petition we will have hit that goal. So lets goooooooooo!

Look like you guys did it...This is fantastic and I know we can reach our next goal of 750 signatures by the time the weekends over...So Email your friends, your family, share the link on everyone's face book and twitter like you never twittered before. Time is limited and we only have several more days before the petition gets sent in. Lets show the State department how much we care about the future of Luke Rodgers and our club! Forza Red Bulls!

We are moving along quite well and again thank you for supporting this. I wrote the body at 4am as an example if somebody else wanted to take over the cause since my time is limited and just now was able to tweak the actual petition's body. But I suppose I will allocate some time for Luke Rodgers and ensuring we see him on the pitch as our striker! Again..keep sharing..spread the word..Send out tweets..embed in your blog...It must be at least 500 signatures by early March before his next visa meeting. I wanted to say thanks to everybody that has signed so far and especially to those sharing the link with others. I am sure Luke appreciates your support and continued efforts in ensuring we are able to sing, "Luke! Luke! Luke Rodgers!" this year at Red Bull Arena!

He is an amazing player, what he has done for the club in one season was incredible. If he can return I know we will win this year. He is someone you cannot underestimate. Luke never did anything bad, he was a genuine guy from my encounters for him, stop being dicks and let the man do what he was born to do! FOOTBALL.

Henry and Rodgers as a forward pairing compliment each other well, and the result in 2011 was a constant threat and lot of goals. We haven't scored a goal in 5 halves of soccer. Need I say more?
