Whereas neighborhood schools encourages community pride and cohesiveness, and
Whereas the increased availability of programs from neighborhood schools lead to well-rounded students, and
Whereas transparency should be the goal of every local governmental agency, and
Whereas large financial transactions taken by local governmental entities should only be done with overwhelming public support, and
Whereas the current school closure plan does not seem to enjoy large popular support.

Now therefore be it resolved we the residents and citizens of the Neshaminy School District request the School Consolidation Plan be put forward for a vote in a public referendum.

To:
Neshaminy School Board Directors, Neshaminy School District
Require the NSD to hold a referendum about the school consolidation plan

Sincerely,
[Your name]

I am a resident & taxpayer. I will vote them out of office if they do not abandom the building of a school in Lower Southampton! With my tax dollars, I think NOT!

Local schools are important for children and parents as well. How is a child supposed to be able to walk to school or ride their bike if the school is 45 minutes away by bus? How is a parent, after working 40 or 50 hours a week, supposed to attend evening school functions? How is anybody going to be heard when you hold convention sized meetings? It is inconvenient for everyone and reduces the value of every child and parent that much further.

Young children entering the school system in the future. I want my children to go to school with children from our neighborhoods. And I want them closer to their home.
