Have David Stern removed as NBA League Commissioner

    1. Petition by

      D K

This petition is made to start the movement to remove David Stern as NBA Commisioner for gross mismanagement and acting against the best interests of the league, players, and fans. This is made to stop a man who, by the admission of executives in his own league, is 'drunk with power.'

The NBA is a fantastic league with wonderful fans; after one of the worst things a sports-fan can endure (a long drawn-out lockout, which, coincidently, is another example of Mr. Stern's gross mismanagement) we are tired and need to be convinced again why we love this sport and to see it improve to something even better than before. Actions like what took place on Thursday, December 7th, 2011 when Mr. Stern went against his own earlier words to not interfere and vetoed a trade proposal made between teams/owners in good faith destroys fans' goodwill and confidence in his stewardship of a league we love. This must be stopped, now.

Also, looks like Dan Gilbert, owner of the Cavaliers, was one of the upset owners in Stern's ear to get him to veto the trade. COLLUSION to stop another team from gaining competitive advantage if I've ever seen it.

Stern is a dictator whom can not be removed from his position without a public outcry. He is the authoritarian, and decides when he will "retire" He has single handedly eliminated my enjoyment of the NBA through his King Sh*t of the world decisions.

It's just time. Mr. Stern needs to go. The general public's perception of him reflects poorly upon the NBA.

David Stern is an absolute joke. The reputation of the NBA is faltering under his leadership. CP3 debacle and lockout has made NBA look like a joke.

Claiming to give a league owned team total autonomy to make all basketball decisions and then going back on that word for "basketball reasons" when the whole NBA world knows that all the deals that have been offered by both the Lakers/Rockets and the Clippers were fair deals and agreed upon by the front office of the Hornets themselves

The NBA's mismanagement of the Hornets, during the shortened offseason, is highly unacceptable. No matter what team Chris Paul was getting traded to, if the deal works under the current CBA, then the NBA has no legitimate reason to suspend said trade. Especially after appointing a autonomous position of governence to Demps, and stating that the league would leave ALL basketball related decisions solely to Demps.

The league has made a mockery of itself, in it's continued heavy-handed pursuit to competely control NBA players. (e.i. like slaves, sadly enough)
