Acknowledge Elvis Presley's Historical Significance

Elvis Presley is acknowledged as the King of Rock and Roll, While his recordings from 1954-1956 have in years past not been eligible for Grammy's because the Grammy's didn't exist during those years, it is important to acknowledge the historical significance of these recordings and their influences on modern music. We would like the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences to officially and publicly acknowledge the historical significance of these recordings.

I want to thank everyone who has joined this cause. We now have close to 575 signatures. We still have a long road ahead, but we've made amazing progress. Two confirmed individuals famous in the Elvis world have signed the petition, and I'm waiting on verification on one more. Sandi Pichon and Joe Petruccio have both signed this petition. I want to thank them both and any other "Elvis celebrity" I may have missed.

I'm looking forward to getting hundreds of more signatures over the weeks, and I hope you'll join me in trying to make that happen.

As a reward for joining this cause, I, as president of the After Loving You Elvis Presley Fan Club, would like to invite you to join the fan club for one year for free. Find the link below.

http://www.afterlovingyou.com. Go to the join page and in the comments section put "petitioner" and any other comments you want.:)

    3. New Goal: 500 Signatures by Midnight

      David Smock
      Petition Organizer

Sorry to bother you folks, but we have a new goal. I would like to see us hit 500 signatures by midnight CST. That's 5 hours from now. We would need 20 signatures an hour to hit this goal, but I believe we can do it. While it's not necessary to hit this goal from a practical standpoint, it would be a huge milestone. I know that we can do this. If each person who signed this petition recruited just one more person we will have 800 signatures. This movement is starting to take off as we are appearing on more and more websites. Let's keep Rockin' and Rollin!
