As bad as the financial situation is for middle class New Yorkers under normal conditions, Hurricane Sandy has made things that much worse. Regular Joes are trying their best to share what they have, whether it be time, supplies, or both to help those hardest hit on Staten Island. As we all know, the fuel situation is awful, and those lucky enough to obtain fuel, and compassionate enough to be willing to assist still have to pay a toll of $13 to enter SI via the Verrazano bridge. Its an awful shame! Let your voice be heard!!!

I use the GWB regularly to get into Manhattan. I find the recent toll increases to be absolutely prohibitive for people to get into the city and pass through to other states along I-95. I want my voice heard for the many people who must use the bridges and tunnels to get to work.

The humanity of it all.... You would dare to charge first responders which could in fact in fact include cops, firefighters, aambulznces, search and rescue. These are people who can potentially harm the people. This is disgustnig ad it doesn't help the city collecting revenue from the first responders, you asre hurtig the city as well as the public who relies on those said first. responders Shame on you.

There are so many people volunteering and transporting donations constantly and multiple times a week. There's so many people using their own cars including first responders being sent on details and they are reporting directly to these sites using their own personal cars. They should not be paying tolls.
