Montgomery County Commissioners: save the green space in Lower Providence

These residents of Lower Providence would like to keep the exisiting open space tract known as the Former GW lot/Shannondell Lease tract, but would welome a YMCA facility at any other location in the township that is not dedicated open space. Essentially, we want to keep the little green space we have  in our township.  There are several other properties that the Freedom Valley YMCA could purchase or lease from Lower Providence Township (Parklane Drive)to build their facility without having to use dedicated open space.

To:
Lower Providence Board of Supervisors, Montgomery County Commissioners
I just signed the following petition addressed to: Lower Providence Board of Supervisors.

----------------
encourage the Freedom Valley YMCA to build in the Industrial Park

These residents of Lower Providence would like to keep the exisiting open space tract known as the Former GW lot/Shannondell Lease tract, but would welome a YMCA facility at a location that is not dedicated open space.

Sincerely,

I play in a golf league there, but even if I didn't it is still beautiful open space. I am also a YMCA member, but this is not the right place for a new one. There are other sites just down the road which could work.

Because I live near the proposed site and the traffic on Egypt Road is already very congested

I think it's completely counter-productive to return over $1 million in open space grants in order to move forward with this project. I'm surprised the Board of Supervisors is even considering this location.
