When Kristina Lawson, a mother of a second-grader in Walnut Creek, California, saw billboards against California Proposition 30 funded by Molly Munger, she started a petition, saying, "Let's make sure California's children are the winners in November. You can help by taking down your anti-Prop 30 ad and focusing your money and efforts on our state's children and not on your ballot measure." The petition and other public outcry helped convince Munger to pull the advertisement.

The San Jose Mercury News said it best in an editorial posted online today: "Molly Munger, put a lid on it."

The Mercury News editorial states, in part: "Seeing her own Proposition 38 tax tanking in the polls, Munger is putting her personal wealth behind a multimillion-dollar campaign to defeat Proposition 30, Gov. Jerry Brown's alternative to stave off further cuts to schools. But the loser won't be Brown. It'll be California's children."

Ms. Munger: Let's make sure California's children are the winners in November. You can help by taking down your anti-Prop 30 ad and focusing your money and efforts on our state's children and not on your ballot measure.

The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting that State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tom Torlakson, called on Ms. Munger to take down her ad, but she refused.   As the recipient of a K-12 public school education here in California, and as the mother of a second grader attending public school in California, I also call on Ms. Munger to
take down her ad.

Our kids are the future of California. Please put their interests first.

We need to support not only K-12 but also our colleges and universities. The future economy depends on well prepared graduates that can enter the workforce.
