Did you know NYC just created a new rule banning foods that don't meet a government nutrition standard from being given to the homeless? Even the classic (and harmless) NYC bagel didn't make the cut! No good can come from limiting what food people can give to those who are homeless. How often does the food we ourselves eat, not measure up to some government nutrition standard on salt or fat content?! Doesn't this go against our freedoms to choose what to eat for themselves? This is government bureaucracy run amok, and it's completely outrageous they would target people in need, to limit what can be donated. Please sign this petition, get two friends to sign this and lets end this!

We must stand behind giving out as much food as we possibly can, whenever we can, and to whomever we can. How can a person put themselves so far out of all empathy for the suffering of those with no food and no money to buy food, that they will leave them to suffer. This is a human rights issue. The right to give food in whatever way available without government interference, and the right to receive food in exactly the same manner.

When you let this pass you allow laws to tell you how many times a day you can comb your hair, ride in your car, take your dog for a walk. Does anyone want the government to monitor each aspect of our lives. The government was set up by each and every one of us to represent our best interests not to completely control and dominate each and every aspect of our lives extending to even regulating how much compassion we can show

Because the law has not forbid shelters from even receiving nutritious food. We usually prepare breakfast for a local shelter that is completely nutritious but thanks to bloomberg now those people will get nothing!

Because this ban is absolutely counter-productive and IDIOTIC.

It is in human to not let good food go to the homeless.
