Diesel, a 1 year old pitbull, was sentenced to death by the Judicial System in Clovis, NM. He was deemed vicious and a danger to society.
Diesel and his dane pal ,Tiny, got out of the yard and went exploring on April 18th, 2012. Their outing took them about 1.5 miles away from home. At their final destination they encountered a horse and a goat. We dont know the beginning of the incident and what started the dogs to chasing these animals but, Diesel did bite the goat, there was a witness to that. The horse also sustained injuries but, it cant be proven that it was done by Diesel. Neither animal suffered major injuries. The dogs were just being dogs, it doesnt mean they are vicious.
We feel that Diesel deserves another chance to prove he is not a bad or dangerous dog. He has never shown aggression toward anyone or anything before and doesnt not have any priors.

The Great Dane was deemed dangerous and released. Diesel, the Pit Bull is being held and sitting on death row.
Please, return him to his Mama or give us a chance to house him with a rescue. Let us find another alternative, death is Not the answer.

There is no reason for Diesel to be put to sleep. Just because he bit a goat does not mean that he is a danger to anyone. If he was any danger, I am sure that on his adventure, there would be more incidents. But apparently there was not. What if the horse had stomped the dog...would he have been put down? The answer to that...might be NO. Why, cause its a horse and not a family pet. So how is this fair? Let Diesel go back home to his family. Treating Diesel like this is a form of racist against dogs. And that's not right!!!!

There is no reason for this. Diesel bit a goat, not a person. Who cares that he is a Pit Bull. That means nothing. Is the goat dead? Is the horse dead? Would you kill the horse or goat if they had killed Diesel? Most likely not. Let Diesel go back to his family and have them put a better gate up or something, but not kill their dog. That is a form of racist. When a person kills another person, they get a trial and get to sit in jail for how long? But a dog bites a goat, and you want to kill him? What is wrong with you people? What if it was YOUR pet that had this mishap? Oh wait, jerks like you can't possibly know what it is like to have a pet to love, because if you did, you should see just how wrong this is!!!!

Animals chase animals - it's a fact of life, and it certainly doesn't make an animal dangerous. This is ridiculous! Learn from the mistakes Belfast just made - don't kill an innocent animal for following its animal instincts. Send Diesel HOME!

Its called prey drive, not aggression, and all dogs have it, not just pit bulls. Neither of the livestock were seriously injured, but you want to kill Diesel...?!?!? What about the Dane? MAXIMUM should be owner citation and fine for allowing two dogs to run at large, and restiution to the owner for any vetting the livestock required. Killing is pretty extreme in this case, don't you think?
