On Wednesday June 19, 2013 we reviewed the finalization of the training policy for the Monroe County Sheriff's Department and with much intricate design and creation with the Sheriff's Office, The Humane Society Of Rochester, and K9 Partners Of Monroe County we have agreed on the overall design of the training policy.
The Sheriff's department received additional training conducted at Alfred College facilitated by Dr. Randall Lockwood with the ASPCA.
The Sheriff department will publish a poster and flier concept of the responsibility of a police officer and the responsibility of dog owners.
One is for officers to get training in handling a unfamiliar dog and for dog owners to get their dogs into behavioral dog training, the owner is always responsible for their dogs behavior.
The theme of the poster is "Dog owners and Police Working Together To Save Dogs".
This has materialized because all of you that have signed and shared and supported me in this endevour.
