Quality photographic education is essential in a visually oriented society. Leaving that training to for-profit institutions diminishes both the art and commerce sides of the medium and limits diverse voices. Keep Long Beach City College Photography alive! Keep all community college photography programs alive!

Community college education is very important for the "community," the state and the country. Community colleges provide education for a myriad of students, from those just graduating from high school, to those retraining for new jobs, to those who are keeping themselves young and involved. Photography, in particular, is important to me. It has given me an artistic outlet as well as provided a third career for me. Please maintain the LBCC photography department.

Students needs these classes to understand the basics of photography and expression. Don't let this part of your program die, or the rest may go with it.
