March 2013

Jim Ross: I wanted to thank each of you for signing our petition. While the board did not remove Milton from the search, your signature and the email that was sent to the LRSD Board, was enough to fundamentally alter the outcome of this search. Congratulations! The lesson we all should learn from this is that there is no room for apathy. We need to organize and move forward. Please join our facebook page if you haven't. We plan to do much more. https://www.facebook.com/abetterlrsd

We, the undersigned, believe that Dr. Walter Milton Jr. is an unacceptable candidate for Little Rock School District superintendent. We ask the board to immediately remove him from consideration and move forward with the other three finalists. We further ask that the board discontinue its relationship with McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., the search firm that selected Dr. Milton as a finalist.

Education is important to me, I have worked in education and have many friends that work in the school district. Education should never be abused for money.

I want to see Little Rock have the leadership required to make certain that our students receive the education with quality teachers that they deserve. Politics should not fit in this discussion.

His background is inappropriate for a leadership position. We need a positive role model to lead our students.

It is imperative that we have someone who is qualified and the right person for this position over the LRSD for it to continue to thrive. This will effect my children. Their education is of upmost priority.

We need strong leadership that has integrity and without controversy that will only distract from the job at hand.
