Stop Endorsing Sex Trafficking

Remove the show The Client List

This petition is important because mainstream media's endorsement of the sex industry needs to change. The sex industry is based on abuse and exploitation, and mainstream media's glamourization of it is dangerous and irresponsible. This television show romantisized the prostitution industry. Lifetime claims the character is a registered massage therapist who get's "coerced" into massage parlours, and ends up loving her job. Coercion is a form of human sex trafficking, and for Lifetime to endorse that is abhorent. The Client List is nothing more than an endorsement of sex slavery.

It is offensive, in this day and age, to promote women as prostitutes. What kind of an image are we sending to our young girls and young boys who will absolutely be able to see this program if they want. It's an insult to women.

As an LMT myself, im angry that the world is going to see this show and have that perception about what I do for a living. I studied hard and help heal people, giving them a better quality of life.

Endorsing the glamorous side of sex slavery is a scumbag move even for a TV network.

Promoting the supposed positive virtues of prostitution and sexual exploitation is damaging and insulting to real human trafficking victims. Standing up against these horrible things is something that corporations should be doing — take that stand now, Lifetime.
