LAUSD School Board: Change the time of regular school board mtgs from 1:00 pm to 6:30 pm

    1. Petition by

      United Teachers Los Angeles

Regular meetings of the Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education (or “LAUSD School Board”) occur at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesdays. This start time is not public friendly as many stakeholders within LAUSD are working or attending classes.

A more convenient time for LAUSD School Board participation would promote public engagement. Changing the time from 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. would allow parents, teachers and other school employees, students and community members to attend and more fully participate in important decisions about the education of children.

You are making these meeting almost impossible for the majority of parents that I am sure would rather be there than miss it. Why not change the times? How does it change your day?

Parents need to attend meetings in order to see the issues up front.

Teachers would like to have a say on policies and educational concerns . School staff needs to be at school sights during school working hours.

Those arrested by law enforcement have due process and are innocent until proven guilty. No one is above the law and everyone is and should be entitled to due process. LAUSD is guilty of malfeasance. They, LAUSD, are providing teachers in their housed detention units with collectively or individually open to a law suit for violation of their civil rights. FBI handles (FREE OF CHARGE) all complaints pertaining to the violations of civil rights. I use to work in the capacity of Labor Relations Representative for 12 years for the California State Employees Assn -- 190,000 civil servants represented. Call the FBI and file your complaints. FBI investigates and they do follow up. In the course of their investigation if they discover anything else that shouldn't be they also investigate those other issues. Thank you.
