Kmart: Save the Sumatran Elephant and Don’t Sell Rainforest Destruction

    1. Petition by

Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) is driving the destruction of Indonesian rainforests for toilet paper. US retailers that are selling APP’s “Paseo” tissue products are fueling deforestation in the Indonesian rainforest and threatening the land that critically endangered Sumatran elephants call home.

Kmart is one of the biggest retailers that continues to sell Paseo tissue products on their shelves. Join us in asking Kmart to stop selling Paseo products until APP quits its rainforest destruction habit.

The Indonesian rainforest is being destroyed so rapidly that Sumatran elephants could go extinct in just a few decades. Major US retailers like Kmart can help prevent this by sending a clear message to APP that deforestation -- and elephant extinction -- is bad for business.

Many other companies, including grocery giant Kroger, have already pulled Paseo products from its store shelves. Now it is time to turn up the heat! Please take a minute now to tell Kmart that there shouldn’t be any space for rainforest-destroying toilet paper on its store shelves.

Take action now by telling Kmart: “Don’t sell rainforest destruction – don’t sell Paseo tissue products!”

      If I can stop one heart from breaking,

      I shall not live in vain;

      If I can ease one life the aching,

      or cool one pain,

      Or help one fainting robin,

      Unto his nest again,

      I shall not live in vain.

      This is a terrible thing that K-MART is doing by selling toilet paper in their stores! People like me don't even have an idea that it may be hurting the poor elephants!

      You know, if you people would use hemp instead of wood pulp - all of the animals that are dying off or are extinct would still be alive now or not dying off into oblivion. Read about the industrial properties of "non-THC" hemp and its benefits for the environment for at least the past 10,000 years of human history.

      Takes less time to grow a crop, does not use as many harsh chemicals, is stronger and more durable then wood paper products or cotton and does not destroy trees, the earth or the lives of animals and their habitat!

      It also costs less to grow, produce and buy and sell.

      What a shame corporations are so greedy for gain!
