To provide a skatepark would give the young people of Thornhill a facility that would
1. Give them somewhere to exercise
2. Provide a safe place to skate and not on local streets.
3 Give them access to a mainstream sport.
4.Give them something they actually want to see in the park.

Relatives of mine live in Thornhill and would benefit from this.

I had friends that quit skating because they couldn't get to a skatepark easily and cost effectively enough from Thornhill and i myself would love the reduced overcrowing of the current skateparks that is prevalant in Kirklees parks at the moment.

its a much better idea than the "outdoor gym" they put in. nobody hardly uses it. plus why not? how much room is there in the park? put it on the island if you must but its something that thornhill, middlestown and the surrounding areas need. mabye a opportunity for kirklees and wakefield to work together.

because there nothing for the teenages in thornhill the boys have been asking for a skate park for years now and have been let down on quite a few acations only to see that waste of money in putting in that gym which will cause more accidents than entertainment . my son used to attend the skate park in raventhorpe but that got closed down due to being unable to pay for repairs to the roof.

I think the boys would be happy with an out door skate park but if it was made a indoor skake park it could be used all year round at a little cost to parent plus it could house a little snack bar which would bring money in as well
