Justice for Rugar

Rugar, a beloved and devoted family dog, was shot on Sunday, July 8th and left to suffer by a St. Louis County, Minnesota Sheriff's Deputy...Officer Chris Cazin. The bullet went through the top of his muzzle, out his throat and through his paw. The only reason that the officer drove down the quarter-mile driveway was to deliver civil papers...a summons for an old medical bill in the amount of $1300.  According to the deputy, this amount was worth leaving a pet suffering in his own front yard for his guardians to find. Rugar's owner drove up a short time later to find his faithful friend gurgling on his own blood in the driveway. The magnitude of this situation is astounding, the cruelty that the officer showed is truly horrifying. Needless to say, Rugar had to be put down, there was no saving him...the only option was to humanely end his suffering. We have to put a stop to this kind of senseless violence. If we can't even trust officers to place proper judgement on the use of deadly force when it comes to our pets, how can we trust them with our children or ourselves? Please stand up for Rugar and the many other pets who have lost their lives in similar circumstances.

We have a page up on Facebook entitled Justice for Rugar...here's the link: http://www.facebook.com/JusticeForRugar?ref=hl

We have copies of the dash-cam video w/ the first phone interview between Angela and the sheriff's department that tortured her dog over-layed so you can clearly see what the officer first said was a lie. There is also a copy of the in-person interview in which the department continues to lie about Deputy Cazin and his ability to handle the situation very differently. The dash-cam clearly shows that he had ample opportunity to take a different course of action.

Additionally, there are copies of the three police reports and various media/correspondence.

I urge you to look at the page, watch the videos and decide for yourself about this tragedy. Also, please share the Facebook page with as many people as you can.

      Thanks for the support!

Because I am a animal lover. I had a pit bull that got mased by a cop because the cop was scared of him because it was a pit bull.

This is happening far too often in this country. There are too many police officers that are nothing but cowards with guns. It is very frightening to see so many of these cases where lethal force is used on companion animals and I am afraid that such people cannot be trusted to make good decisions when it comes to humans as well. When a law enforcement officer shoots a domestic animal, they should be thoroughly investigated instead of just shrugging it off as too often happens.
