Justice for Roethel, Forsythe and Wilder in Ogdensburg Chevron Oil Spill Cleanup

      Potsdam, NY

We demand justice for the 3 elderly citizens who are being held accountable for the cleanup of an oil spill caused by the Chevron Corporation.

Mrs. Roethel is 85 years old and in failing health. Mr. Forsythe is 85 years old and is a WWII veteran. Mr. Wilder is 86 years old, also a WWII veteran with a Purple Heart. They DID NOT pollute the properties they purchased... but are being forced to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to the State while Chevron gets fined only $15,000.

This is so wrong and a terrible injustice. Chevron is to blame, not the Roethel's. Chevron should take responsibility for the cleanup. It all boils down to being greedy...come on Chevron.

Polluters guilty of not properly cleaning up make all future owners culpable - that's just wrong.

I proudly stand behind the Roethel family. It is a disgrace that, yet again, good, everyday people are being bullied by corporate America. It must stop!

It's an unfair situation for all the reasons already stated. The Roethel family have always been hard working, civic minded people. They have my support.

Born and raised in the Burg and know of the folks involved and what an injustice is being forced upon them. Shame on the State of NY and Chevron Oil.
