Animal Control Officer, Bryan Jones, brought a longhair chihuahua home from the Joliet Township Animal Control Center after the dog was deemed "aggressive" and feared the tiny dog would be out down. Township Supervisor Dan Vera ordered him to bring the dog back, and if he didn't, he would have the choice to either be fired or resign. Bryan refused to bring the dog back. He did the right thing in protecting this dog from possible euthanasia - and the dog is getting along great with his other dogs. Isn't this the kind of compassionate person you want working at an Animal Control center? Please sign this petition and give Bryan his job back!

This man should be honored for saving this dog, and giving it a home rather than see it die for no reason. This country needs more workers like him in animal control! He harmed no one and saved a valuable life!

Stop playing games and give Mr. Jones is job back. Dan Vera needs to get over his power trip and remember he is in the business of helping animals.

Aren't you people ashamed ? You are supposed to be helping dogs ... Uuummm like Bryan did ... instead you punish him for having compassion and caring enough to save this dog. If he wants his job back - give it to him. We need more Bryans in animal shelters... too many uncaring jerks.

This man personally took responsibility for the dog. Why should this dog, a chihuahua, not be given a chance. He did the right thing. He is experienced with dogs and obviously knew the dog better than those that deemed it aggressive!

Protect those that protect our animals from those people that have no intention of caring and protecting. Seems to me the people at the JTAC centre need looking into.
