Voter Suppression laws have been introduced in 23 states. The vast majority of these laws are modeled on legislation created and distributed by ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council), which is funded by corporations and billionaires who are pushing a conservative policy agenda. ALEC has led the charge in the national push to undercut voting rights.
These laws disproportionately affect low income people and people of color. And that's why these unfair laws are being challenged in places like Pennsylvania, where the Attorney General is investigating the law as a potential violation of the Voting Rights Act.
