Join the Fight Against Voter Suppression Laws

Voter Suppression laws have been introduced in 23 states. The vast majority of these laws are modeled on legislation created and distributed by ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council), which is funded by corporations and billionaires who are pushing a conservative policy agenda. ALEC has led the charge in the national push to undercut voting rights.

These laws disproportionately affect low income people and people of color. And that's why these unfair laws are being challenged in places like Pennsylvania, where the Attorney General is investigating the law as a potential violation of the Voting Rights Act.

You can help fight Voter Suppression laws and protect voting rights for all people. Join the Campaign for Community Change to support grassroots organizations in communities around the country with training, organizing, expertise and funding.

In the face of this organized effort to suppress votes, we must organize people to challenge these laws, register to vote, and mobilize on Election Day so everyone has a voice in the political process. Sign the petition right now and join efforts to fight voter suppression and protect voting rights.

The current trend in this country toward too many voter suppression laws is threatening our democratic way of life

It should be against federal constitutional law to suppress voting in any election; federal, state or local. There should be criminal penalties for it. It's not just dirty tricks and better gamesmanship. All registration and voting methods should be encouraged. Some of us can register on the same day we vote. Some of us can vote by mail. If we can electronically file our income taxes in a secure fashion, why can't we vote electronically. Restricting voter registration, voting locations, voting times, and voting capacity is illegal.
