No one is for violence against women, right? All 11 EMILY’s List’s women in the Senate – Senators Boxer, Cantwell, Feinstein, Gillibrand, Hagan, Klobuchar, McCaskill, Mikulski, Murray, Shaheen, and Stabenow – cosponsored the reauthorization of VAWA when it was in the Senate. But the GOP is playing political games that put women at risk, let’s show our women in Congress that we are standing with them as they fight for VAWA!

Stand with EMILY’s List and let our women know that you have their backs!

because I have been a program director for a 15 bed DV shelter and I seen the damage done. I have also experienced the healing that can be accomplished as change and education become a part of who they are as people.I know how powerful community integrated response is to this devastating problem.Everyone deserves the right to be free of violence.

My daughter was killed by an act of domestic violence, and I heard him killing her on the phone...and the man who did it has not even been charged in this crime. He ran over her and beat her as the eyewtness cried and screamed "STOP, you are hurting her", then he threw her body down a hill into a field and tossed objects up the road, and no one got to Darah in time to save her...she had called me for help I got there 10 minutes to late to help. If folks are able to do this to others...what example are we setting for toleration of domestic violence in general? Someone must speak up for the victims and for prosecution of domestic violence cases!
