      No Kid Hungry

According to numbers recently released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, in 2010, 16.2 million children lived in households that struggled to afford food, skipped meals or ate inadequate diets due to a lack of money and resources. That is one in every five children in America who are faced with hunger.

It doesn’t have to be this way. There is plenty of nutritious food in America to make sure every child grows up healthy and thrives. What’s missing is access to this food. If families don’t have reliable access to healthy, affordable food, they can’t possibly feed their children well.

We need your help to make sure that all children have access to the food they need where they live, learn, and play. Please join us today, by taking the No Kid Hungry pledge and joining the movement of people dedicated to ending childhood hunger in the United States.

Because you shouldn't even have to ask that! A child??? Actually no one should have to go hungry, but especially not a child!!

Children should never have to go hungry. Children should get the best start in life, and that starts with enough good, healthy food to eat, regardless of whether their families are rich or poor.

It has been proven that children who skip meals face difficulty at school - ask any kid how well they work when they're hungry and they'll tell you: they can't concentrate on anything else but how hungry they are. And long-term poor nutrition can impact a child for the rest of their life.

If the food is there, why are children hungry? There is no valid reason for any child to go hungry in a first-world country.

I have small children and understand the difficulties of providing for children...I have been fortunate to maintain and wish that for everyone

Sadly, I was one of those kids that was in a family that couldn't always afford the best of food and have a handful of friends in the same boat. We grew up thinking we can't expect society to help and we are on our own, getting angry for something that was out of our control. How I wanted to work at the age of six to put actual food groups on the table (But of course no one wants to hire a kid) so its literally out of their control

Every child deserves to eat well, if the resources are available, why not use them?
