Stop Attacking Rite Aid Workers Health Care Benefits

Grandmothers who work at Rite Aid are in a major battle against their employer. They are fighting hundreds of violations of federal law and a demand by management that they surrender their union health care coverage.

It's outrageous and hypocritical that a company in the health care business is attempting to deprive its own employees of affordable health care!   Rite Aid even admits that it can afford the existing health care benefits and its main competitor in northeast Ohio (CVS) has already agreed to a contract that is essentially identical to the one sought by the grandmothers.

Sign the petition to help convince top Rite Aid managers to respect employees and negotiate a fair contract with affordable and comprehensive health care coverage.

The Local 880 Rite Aid negotiating team has reached a tentative agreement with management for new contracts in the Cleveland-area and the Akron/Youngstown area. The Cleveland tentative agreement effectively ends the strike for now. Cleveland-area Rite Aid members will be voting on the contract Nov. 7 - 9. No further details are available at this time.

I think Mr Stanley should be able to afford these increases more with his million dollar raise he gave himself.

I'm a fellow UFCW Local #880 member and believe they should not have to pay for their healthcare. For as little wages they receive how could they afford to pay for their own healthcare.

I think that health care benefits are essential for workers -- and CVS apparently has been able to agree. This is important for your employees and for your reputation!

A free society entitles those workers to collectively bargain without reprisals. if this is not settled, I will discontinue using the services and products of my local Rite Aid store where I live.
