John Roden: Stop your petition to remove Ben Affleck from his role as Batman

Mr. Roden's petition is a frivolous use of the resources of Change.org, and more importantly, he is seeking to interfere with an individual's legal right to work and earn income in his chosen profession...WHILE HE SEEKS TO PROFIT THROUGH THE SALE OF MERCHANDISE ADVERTISED ON CHANGE.ORG.

I have participated in numerous campaigns on Change.org.  Campaigns championing causes such as equal rights, equal pay, the shaming of big banks and insurance companies who prey upon their unsuspecting customers, bullying, and basically individuals who are fighting for their hard-faught and hard-earned rights and freedoms.  I greatly value the role that Change.org plays in helping to facilitate these important victories.  Mr. Roden's petition greatly undermines the reputation of Change.org as a facilitator of important social change.

The road to VICTORY is paved with small successes. I began my day yesterday at 4:00 a.m. by sending off an email to Change.org, requesting clarification of their policy on advertising merchandise for personal profit on a petition, after I became aware that John Roden had begun advertising apparel for sale on his petition page. I followed up my email, with the blog post "Profits Over Social Good" on both my Wordpress and Tumblr accounts ( you can find the post here http://inawordblog.wordpress.com/2013/08/27/profits-over-social-good/ ), as well as Twitter postings.

SUCCESS!!! As of this writing, Mr. Roden has removed his advertisement from his petition page.

Obviously, someone is paying attention to our petition. Thanks to all of you for all you are doing to share our petition!! Every signature is one more brick of SUCCESS on our road to VICTORY!!!!

Ben Affleck should be given a second chance in this. He has greatly matured over the years as both an actor and director. Look at Micheal keaton. Nobody expected him to be a fantastic Batman until the movie came out.

John Roden is using Change.org to stop an actor from staring in a movie, when change.org should, and has been used to change actually national and international issues.

I don't know whether Ben Affleck will be a good Batman or not but believe he should at least be given a chance.

John Roden said it all. Besides Ben is a damn good actor, writer, director. Come on HATERS. Let the man live. He would rock BATMAN all day long.

He is basically petitioning to get a man FIRED from his job. How they like it if I sent a petition to Standard Steve's boss suggesting that he get fired? It's ridiculous!
