Jamal and Liiban Noor, 15 and 18 years of age, respectively, are two brothers from Mississauga who were arrested by Somaliland authorities while on vacation in the territory. Their grandmother's house was raided by authorities and the boys were accused of raping a politician's cousin. They were denied access to a lawyer and tortured by their interrogators before being sentenced to ten years of imprisonment.

Pressure from our government is our best hope of ensuring thei boys' safety. Jamal and Liiban are entitled to a fair trial and access to a lawyer, which they have been denied.

I had attended middle school wtih Liiban and Jamal. They were classmates as well as friends of mine. What 15 year old deserves 10 years of torture? They lived a peaceful Canadian lifestyle doing no harm to anyone. All of a sudden they are locked up abroad with nothing, not even able to communicate. They cannot be forgotten and must be released.

This is so sad. We heard so much of the Christian mother who was being held for adultery. USA got her in the country within a year. How come our country is do stiff when it comes to protecting our youths? Our black youths especially.
