      Summit, NJ

JCP&L's lack of adequate response is unprofessional and unacceptable. PSE&G has done so much more for their customers and in much less time. We need to join hands as a community to make sure we affect change. Please join us by signing this petition.

    2. Updated Petition has been delivered to Mayor Dickson Today Nov 9th again

      Dear Supporters,

As of today, Nov 19th 2012, 10 days after we lost power, Summit still has more than 2000 families without power. We have collected 411 signatures for the petition. However, even with impressive amount of signatures, we feel powerless during this powerless time. There has been too much misleading information about power restoration from JCP&L. The deadline of restoration has been pushed back again and again. We do not believe most residents’ power could be restored by Saturday Nov 10th.

I have emailed Mayor Ellen Dickson our updated petition with all 411 signatures and comments. Hope she could use our petition to pressure JCP&L to provide us an honest street by street power restoration plan at least.

Thank you again for your support.

By Nov 5th, JCPL will restore power for 93% Millburn residents (5430 out of 5839 who were out of power as of Nov 2nd); while only restore 13.9% Summit residents (711 out of 5079 who were out of power as of Nov 2nd), 4368 Summit residents will still be in dark Nov 5th.

    5. JCP&L: Restore power & communicate timelines for Summit, NJ

      Dear Supporters,
First, thank you very much for your support and because of it, our campaign has collected 229 signatures.
These are updates of our Petition:
      • I have mailed the Petition to Governor Christie and Senator Menendez. Due to Sandy, the mailing service to NJ has been disrupted. Not sure when the mail could be delivered. As Governor Christie only provides his PO Box, USPS seems the only way to deliver the Petition to him. If anyone knows his direct contact, please share it with me.
      • I have also posted our Petition on Governor Christie and Senator Menendez’s Facebook page. Hope it can generate some publicity. But the more postings, the better.
      • I emailed the Petition to Senator Menendez and Senator Lautenberg.
      • I emailed the Petition to our Mayor Ellen Dickson as well. I believe she has direct contact with the next level as well as JCPL. I rely on her to deliver the Petition. (Millburn’s major supported the Petition and almost all residents’ power has been restored.)

    7. Our campaign has got more than 120 signatures, please keep going.

      Dear Supporters,

First, thank you very much for your support and because of it, our campaign has collected more than 120 signatures.

This is a huge milestone for our campaign! Getting our first 100 signatures is the hardest part of the petition. While we take our petition to the next level - recruit some promoters, I will mail the petition with all signatures to Governor Chris Christie on 11/05/2012. So, the names of all supporters who sign the petition before 11/05/2012 12PM EST will be included in our petition to the Governor. We will keep sending the Governor updated petition after 11/05/2012 depending on the progress of power restoration in Summit.

To get more people sharing our petition, please use email, Facebook, and Twitter to let people know we're looking for help spreading our campaign.

Thank you again for your support. Hope our petition could push JCPL to restore power for Summit sooner.

I live inSpringfield and was 12 days without power . Union county needs to file a class action

Lawsuit against JCP&L . There lack of timely response borders on criminal negligence. Their service is deplorable and to add insult to injury , we received our electric bill before they even bothered to restore our power!!!! We need to bring in a company that can fulfill their obligation to their paying customers!

I have lost power twice for over a week over the last year. I wish there was a way that Summit could change our electric provider to PSE&G or somebody more reliable than JCP&L.

Seems fair to communicate street by street, so everyone can plan for comfort and safety!
