Tony Bennett and his staff pushed for school accountability in the form of a school grading system. However, when Bennett's grading system showed one of his most cherished charter schools as a "C" school, he actively sought a change of the system to make Christel House Academy (founded by Christel De Haan, an active contributor to the Republican party in Indiana) an "A" school. Bennett's relationship with Christel De Haan and Christel House Academy should be examined more closely by the Indiana Office Of Inspector General for any criminal and/or ethical wrongdoing.

Here is Tom LoBianco's original article.

My husband has been an educator for 26 years and we have many friends in education. I worked in the education field for 13 years myself. I have watched the education system change over the years, usually for the better. This change is definitely not for the better. The stress and huge extra workload that is put on teachers is so great they cannot hardly teach anymore. The way the government has changed a teachers pay scale is absolutely ridiculous. Why would anyone go into education anymore. They can barely make enough money to support a family. Low pay for stress and a workload that is over the top, who wants that, no one. Soon there will not be enough teachers, because people want jobs and careers where advancement and extra education actually mean something, unlike the education field in Indiana. So this issue is important to me because it affects the livelihood of my family and friends. I am also concerned with the education our young people are getting. It is time to put kids and teachers first and do what is right by all of them. Teachers are teaching our children to be productive citizens, to be the next generation to take over our government and communities and they deserve to be treated better than what they are getting.

Our children's education is WAY too important to play games with.

As residents of Indiana with grandchildren in schools, we and their parents need to know if the schools are REALLY good or not, not if they have political connections. Tony Bennett's behavior must be investigated, for the good of the entire Indiana school system, public and private.

I believe in fairness and the Republicans are not playing fair in regards to public education. I don't want my grandchildren turned over to the highest for-profit school bidder for their education.
