Include Body Modification in Equal Opportunity Employment

In conjunction with www.SoTattooed.com, we believe that people who choose to express themselves in the way they best see fit will continue to receive discrimination when trying to get a respectable job. Body modification is as much a choice as religion, which is included in equal opportunity employment. Make Equal Opportunity equal!

Adding Body Modification to the Equal Opportunity Employment Act is important to me, because people with body modifications are just like people without body modifications. We're people: We all breathe the same air, eat the same food, and have the same issues… but the people with body modifications are harshly discriminated based simply on how we look. Just because we look different, just because we wear our art on our skin, we are looked down upon in society. Body modification is pure self-expression; it does signify what kind of person we are, or what kind of work ethic we have. Modified people are not all bad people, just like non-modified people are not all good people; I feel like society thinks because we have tattoos and piercings we must all be criminals, just because we’re different. Life isn’t black and white, though. Didn’t your mama ever teach you not to judge a book by its cover? I would just like to live in a world where good, wholesome, hard-working, wonderful people are not discriminated based on outward appearance.

I have tattoos and piercings &I love self expression. tattoos and jewelry do not dictate my abilities and capabilities. if you have a set of skills; a talent, a star on your hand and plugs in your ears will not change that.
