I Support Transgender Students!

    1. Petition by

      Transgender Law Center

In many school districts, transgender students are prevented from participating fully in school activities, programs and facilities. This can lead to missing credits needed for graduation as well as serious stigma and bullying of transgender students, who are already one of the most marginalized and vulnerable groups in our public schools.

I pledge my support for transgender students and their right to participate fully in school as their authentic selves so that they can have a fair chance at success like all other students.

When Trace told his classmates that he identifies as a boy, in November 2012, he was immediately suspended and barred from returning to school for approximately three weeks.

Transgender Law Center extends our gratitude to Representatives Jared Polis (D-Colo.) and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.) who have re-introduced the Student Non-Discrimination act, which would provide federal prohibition against discrimination against LGBT students in all public schools. The bill would prohibit schools from ignoring bullying, harassment, intimidation, or violence based on sexual orientation or gender identity.

Because I want that these people are not trapped in any law, rule, order against their real personality and feeled sex.

Sociiety is walking backwards the last years concerning human rights, so it's time to go forwards in other and even this human/personality respect points. They shall have the same possibiilites and opportinities than non-transgenders.
