I pledge to do one random act of kindness every week

      BLOSSOM INTERNATIONAL

Every year Blossom's Children for Charity program commits random acts of kindness.  This year we handed out hot chocolate and cookies as well as kindness paper cookies filled with kindness quotes while last year we were at a post office handing out free stamps, candy and stationary.

Through this pledge you promise to commit one random act of kindness per week.  This can be as simple as holding the door open for someone or a more time intensive project such as creating cards with thoughtful words on them for neighbors or friends.  For a list of suggestions for random acts of kindness for youth you can visit:

I had a chance to do a random act today.  Yesterday we were at a craw fish boil at one of the neighbors houses up the road.  Another neighbor was there and seemed very upset.  Her and her husband stepped around the house and were talking and I happened to over hear their conversation.  They were talking about how far behind they were on their bills since he had lost his job due to downsizing.  He has gotten a new job but it is going to be another week before he gets his first paycheck.  She was crying because she had gotten a letter from the power company saying that their power would be turned off today if they couldn't pay $125.00 so this morning I called the power company and paid the amount for them.

Little things can truly make a huge difference world wide, just having time or the right words can bring sunshine back into other people lives and we can all do that daily.

As a child that has been in various homes and often without, the things I remember most was the acts of kindness, the kind people and the  little things given to me help shape who I am today.

So feel a great thing to do is give to children when unexpected, just because as I truly feel these small acts really can help make a difference to the future generation, its knowing others care and they are not alone....

I give advice, support and understanding 7 days a week, 24 24 hours aday if I could... because firstly always someone in need and secondly to give is the best gift any of us can receive.
