Paseo Del Mar is San Pedro's premiere scenic drive.  It should be restored so that it can be enjoyed by all of San Pedro and Los Angeles (and visitors as well), now and in the years to come.

Several new cracks have appeared in the White Point Landslide area. The latest crack was discovered today resulting in a work shut down. A bowl-shaped crack, about 3″ in width appeared on the east side of the slide, approximately halfway between the landslide edge and the nearest house.

To lessen the high traffic flow thru residential streets. Cars race up and down our street like they on a race track. Also to be able to enjoy the scenic drive along the coast from 25th street.

To lessen the overburdened traffic load in my neighborhood as many people are traveling at excessive speed through residential sub streets to get around the closure. It's not fair for other areas to suffer so a few can have a cull d sac area. Save money and construct the connecting road into the Fort Mac reservation!

I love this drive....it's really sad that I can't enjoy the scenic drive, and it's convenient, since I live so close to 25th street, but I have to drive all the way around.

Public safety is the issue here. The streets where the traffic has been diverted are suitable to handle the amount of added usage. Small residential streets plus heavy traffic plus school children? Take this risk so a people who bought their homes where a major traffic artery existed when they purchased can sustain a new found quiet at the expense of public safety? Ridiculous.
