This will affect creative people and small businesses, the very people who often cannot afford to copyright their ideas. It does not acknowledge the vast income that creative industries bring to the UK economy, stifles creativity and will probably drive small businesses out of the market. It is a law which will only benefit the rich and corporations, and has not place in a democratic society.

As a professional illustrator and writer I cannot afford to lose income from people "legally" stealing my work. I use the internet to promote my work and reach my international readership, not to allow people free access to steal my work. Under the copyright act anything created is automatically copyright to its creator, allowing the government or others to freely pirate that copyright is theft, not only of my IP but also of my main source of income.

Everyone should have the right to copy right their ideas, creative ppl deserve the rights to royalities for the own ideas and have the right to sell there own ideas to who ever when ever, and receive a acknowledgement for achievements and creativity in all buisiness.

The creator should own their ideas by default. Stealing others' ideas simply because you have more money than they do and wish to profit further at their expense is morally bankrupt and should not be supported by law.

Why should artists of any type see their work profit a third party who lacks the creativity to have done things themselves?

I'm really tired of government and large corporations taking advantage of the people. Won't be long before the US does something similar. I really hate places like Getty Images who do nothing but take advantage of artists.
