What is more important than our own children?
The answer: nothing.
That's the reason why I wanted to start my own petition on SDR.
Did you that you can get a breast enlargement on the NHS, look at the following link: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2380390/Josie-Cunningham-SUE-NHS-breasts-big.
Or did you know you could get a sex change if you are a prisoner on the NHS, please follow the link: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2383992/Violent-inmate-Alan-Baker-given-10-000-sex-change-NHS.
You cannot get a life changing operation for children, like SDR on the NHS.
HAVE WE GOT OUR PRIORITIES WRONG?
These operations cost thousand of pounds to the NHS, so to you BUT we cannot pay for SDR for our children?
SDR cost £ 52000 to each family in the UK, but it is the ONLY operation cerebral palsy sufferers can have which will reduce the excessive pains and tensions in their muscles, make them independent and give them a better quality of life. It was proven, I only copied few words from the following article: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2633339/
"SDR is a safe and effective method for reducing spasticity permanently without major negative side effects. In combination with physiotherapy, in a group of carefully selected and systematically followed young children with spastic diplegia, it provides lasting functional benefits over a period of at least five years postoperatively."
Please HELP me to raise our voices about SDR and to get it free on the NHS.
Our son, Oliver, was born 3 months premature, weighing only 2 pounds, due to some non provable negligence from the NHS.The irony of the matter is that now we have to pay the NHS £ 52000 to give our son a better life and a chance to walk like any other children,
Is it RIGHT?
Please send this petition to all your friends, family, Facebook contacts and work colleagues and let's make the children's world a better place.
Thank you for reading this petition. I hope it will make a difference to all the children.
