The Halloween tradition has been in our schools for as many years as we can remember.  With the creativity of the staff and parents, together we can provide an educational and fun experience for the Halloween tradition to continue at Hayes Elementary School.

Signing this petition shows your support in holding onto the tradition and providing our children with the memories of Celebrating Halloween. The tradition that's been a part of our society for many years.  Be your child's voice. Exercise your partnership with Hayes Elementary School and let's work together in keeping the tradition alive.

I participated in the Halloween carnival when my girls were growing up. I feel strongly that we need to preserve these family events.

I went to this elementary school and remember the Halloween Parade every year. Monster Mash would play and we would all line up to parade around the asphalt in the back of the school near the walnut trees. I'm not sure if the trees are gone, but my sense of love and wonder for Halloween has always remained as my favorite holiday. There's so much bad in this world. We need chances to dress up, be silly and have fun. Kids get fewer opportunities to do that in safe environments. Please reconsider allowing the kids to have their parade. I only remember it ever taking a short while and you're asking kids to have less fun in school by taking things like this away. Setting the example that learning and fun can happen together can only help motivate children to want to learn and be educated. Plus, it's Halloween. Candy is everywhere. Kids are excited about getting to go trick-or-treating after school. How focused do you truly expect them to be? Adults get to take personal days from our places of employment. Doing so, personally, keeps me sane and motivated at work. Kids need time off to decompress as well. Might as well give them a day in which their less likely to be focused due to what's going on. Relaxed humans are easier to work with and educate.

Even though I didn't attend this school my school did this growing up and it was one of my more memorable times growing up.
