The rates of Hallsdale Powell Water District are too high and should be reduced. There are approximately 29,000 customers of this utility district and we need at least 3,000 signatures of the person billed by the utility to get a rate review. If you are the person named on the bill please sign this petition so we can show just how fed up we are with outrageous prices.

      We moved into a very small condo (less than 1000 sq ft) after living in a 25000 sq ft house in Broadacres for 20+ yrs. We raised 2 boys and several dogs there and water usage was 'normal' with an average bill of $60.00. We called it 'liquid gold'. I took up residence here in 10/01/12 and from the start my bills were higher than on Lancashire!!! I was single and the water usage was approximately was HIGHER than at my previous address, I was single and rarely used my dishwasher and only did wash 1x a week on a Fri. and only 2 small loads then. I spoke with neighbors and and out of the 10 homes on this street 8 out of 10 only paid the minimum allowed. My bill was TWICE what theirs was!!!! I call almost every month (just ask Jennifer) and they have done 'studies' re-set meters, etc. My water bill is higher than my electric bill no matter WHAT I do!!! Something must be done as now my water bill is over 100.00 for ME!! I am disabled and only get around 700.00 per month. That only leaves 600 for food, utilities, medicine, (which is quite expensive due to my condition) my co-pays on dr.'s etc. I am at my wits end and the only thing I know to do is sell the condo and move to an area that is serviced by KUB! HELP!
