Please, we need a climate change bill, now, etc.. While we do not yet know the full extent of the impacts of the BP Deepwater Horizon spill, it is clear that the damage is catastrophic, with risks to the health of marine wildlife, fisheries and coastal economies. It is also clear that our continued dependence on oil unacceptable. There will also be long term impacts from a changing climate if we continue to rely on polluting fossil fuels. Climate change is one of today's greatest threats to ecosystem integrity, fish and wildlife, human coastal settlements, and economic development. When our senators head back to Washington, DC, they should know their constituents expect them to get right to work and pass comprehensive climate and energy legislation that significantly reduces global warming pollutants by putting a price on carbon; protects our wildlife and natural resources from the impacts of climate change; and prevents future disasters like the Gulf spill by prohibiting any new drilling off our coasts. If the Gulf Coast BP oil unnatural and preventable uber-disaster has taught us anything, it is that it's time for the audacity of nope, especially the dempublicans, and remocrats, want to get the bipartisanship sailing again under their new flag of "clean: coal, oil and nuclear waste"; an energy policy nobody can believe in, we must just say no! "...There's a beacon in the sky, meant to catch your eye...", sung by Happy Rhodes. Concentration on solar energy, no non-renewable energy resources and no nuclear, is what's needed; and a green jobs movement. For e.g., a solar Manhattan style project is needed now. We can't ignore reality, must prevent the point at which ecological destruction becomes irreversible, and humanity and large mammals are extinct, now, in the future; if not you, then who, now, then when, here, where, this, what? Extinction is NOT an option. Please, ACT NOW- CHANGE THE FUTURE, before there isn't one for humanity. Keep nope alive! For e.g., having tax cuts to the richest for a decade during two wars is economic treason; by the richest 2 % of our nation. As well, I don't mean to interject reality into your fun, BUT, you can't restore sanity, one must choose the direction of sanity, ergo, go sane, put their shadows behind them, move, et al; giving up the devolutionary direction, re-embracing the evolution- for e.g., turning 360 degrees around, back to the future and the evolutionary direction you were born flying in. Don't let the corporate structure's installation of the tea party as the head of the republican conspiracy, shifting the supposed political picture to the right by force (supposedly, the supposed left extreme being Jesus walking on water civil rights African-American conspirator supposed Christian conspirators, who can do no wrong, who are supposedly diametrically opposed to, the extreme right, tea partying republican supposed Christian conspirators, who want to return the usa to laws and practices of the pre-civil rights movement era) be the dems supposed excuse to need to be 'tri-partisan', and water down all legislation to 'work' with the tea party in Congress as well as the rems, making sausage instead of real legislation, while they ignore real third parties like the Green Party, and keep them and real independents out of the debates; demand truth and accountability.
