Many Insurance companies as well as Medicare do not cover Insulin Pumps and/or CGM's (Continued Glucose Monitoring) medical equipment. Both an Insulin Pump and CGM's work hand in hand to reduce the complications of diabetes which can be devastating on the diabetic and the families, as well as the financial cost to Insurance companies and our Government.
An Insulin Pump and CGM can reduce the devastating loss of eyesight, kidney failure, irreversible nerve damage and amputation. This medical equipment allows the diabetic individual to see there current glucose reading in a meter that reads the blood sugar level 24 hours a day for 7 days where than the sensor is discarded and a new sensor is inserted. This is modern day treatment for diabetics yet our Insurance companies and Medicare are denying the coverage of these advancements.
Their is no reason for these durable equipment devices not to be covered to save the diabetics life and to save money in the long run. Diabetics did not apply for this disease. It is with us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. It does not go away. If you or a loved one is a diabetic or if you loss a loved one or friend to this disease, I ask that you please sign your name to this petition requesting that Insurance companies and Medicare cover Insulin Pumps and Continued Glucose Monitors for all Insulin dependent diabetics. Thank you.

Government of The United States of America
Mandate Insulin Pumps & CGM's be covered by Medical Insurance & Medicare.

A participant of dcct that proved that tight control with pumps would reduce complications and it was sponsored by the government. What gives? Why won't they adopt what they financed to prove.

It doesn't make sense to not cover the CGM! I feel like Medicare is saying to m, "Go away and die."
