Hold Polluters Accountable-- Restore Clean Air to Our National Parks!

    1. Petition by

      National Parks Conservation Association

Waiting for clean air in our national parks? Don’t hold your breath.

National parks represent the best of America, our rich natural, cultural and historical heritage. Yet from Yellowstone to the Grand Canyon, our parks suffer from poor air quality that diminishes the experience of millions of park visitors each year.

This wasn’t supposed to happen. The 1977 Clean Air Act promised to restore clean clear air to America’s most treasured national parks and wilderness areas. But at the current rate of cleanup, it will take centuries to achieve natural air quality at many parks.

President Obama can restore clean air to national parks by closing loopholes that let polluters off the hook.

Urge the President to fix his administration’s clean air regulations so that national parks achieve clean air in our lifetime. Please act now! Learn more at npca.org/cleanair4parks

Our national parks need to be preserved for the generations to come.

Power plants need to meet Clean Air Act in each state; if it is not in place then they need to. This also would include power plants on native lands. They keep saying our lands have been poluted by us; they too need to clean up.

Because I went to Grand Canyon for the first time & it was so smoggy that it was terrible! Any pictures taken were terrible & we were tokd it was due to some pollution in the California area. It was awful! Our National Parks are forever & they are being ruined now! This wasn't naturl air quality. Please don't delay any longer. The original Clean Air Act was passed in 1977! Please close any loopholes that might let the polluters off the hook. We need clean air in our parks in our lifetime. Good luck!

We all deserve clean air--in the parks and in the cities too. Government shouldn't have to regulate big business, but it needs to when business can't see beyond their (short-term) profits
